range
The difference between the highest score and the lowest score

The range is a measure of dispersion. It gives an indication of the total span of the scores. Even if scores lie on an infinite scale in theory, the range gives the practical size of the scale. For example, age is measured in years, which in theory, can vary between zero and infinity. However, the range across the entire human population is between 0 and 122, so the range = 122 minus 0, which equals 122. This is the practical size of the age scale.
