The 'pointiness' of a normal distribution.

There is a parameter in the equation that generates the normal distribution that affects the shape of the peak of the curve. This parameter is called the curtosis of the curve. A high amount of kurtosis means that the curve has a sharp peak. Low kurtosis means that the curve is flattened out.
